Some headlines – Billings man sentenced for dangling baby off balcony – demand that you read them, even though you know you’ll be sorry.
Well, we read it and we were sorry.
Timothy Lee Lewis (photo above) got a deferred sentence. The Billings Gazette tells us why:
After a public defender told the judge that Lewis has no prior convictions and has worked with state social workers since the incident, Fagg gave Lewis the choice of a three-year suspended prison sentence or a five-year deferred sentence and a fine.Lewis, who declined to make a statement, chose the deferred sentence. Fagg then imposed a $100 fine and ordered Lewis to make payments of $5 a month.
