It was a wild night in the Flathead on Friday; luckily one that ended with no serious injuries. We spot to Flathead County Sheriff Chuck Curry a little while ago, who gave the following account:
A 19-year-old Kalispell man is in custody after allegedly firing a semiautomatic weapon at a Flathead County Sheriff’s deputy, then fleeing across an open field with a young woman.
“He took some rounds through the windshield. He’s pretty shook up but physically fine,” Curry said.
Bryson Connelly, arrested shortly before midnight Friday as he approached a home southwest of Kalispell, faces a charge of attempted deliberate homicide, Curry said. A knockoff Kalashnikov was found nearby, he said.
Connelly will appear Monday in court. A young woman was being questioned by authorities Saturday afternoon, but no decision had been made on whether to file charges.
