This week, the Missoula County Sheriff’s Office and CrimeStoppers are working on a largely preventable crime:
The Missoula County Sheriff’s Office continues to be inundated with Theft from Motor Vehicle cases in which items are stolen from unlocked vehicles. We urge people to lock their vehicles and not to store valuable items in your vehicle.
Please be a good neighbor by calling 9-1-1 if you see someone acting suspicious in your neighborhood.
If you have suspect information regarding these types of cases, please call CrimeStoppers at 721-4444 in Missoula and Mineral counties, or 363-0062 in Ravalli County.
If information that you provide leads to an arrest and conviction, you may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000 and you can remain anonymous. CrimeStoppers does not record phone calls or use Caller ID.
CrimeStoppers helps protect communities from criminal activity and empowers citizens to make a difference.

Set up some bait cars
I’m with the suggestion of bait cars. Lock up every car in Missoula and they will then break in. Lock the cars in your garage and they will break in the house. I’m from El Paso and can guarantee you that you can make it harder by locking them up and you should. But the PD needs to catch these jerks and quick. They know a good game when they see one.
