Different approaches to alleged sexual hazing

Remember the allegations of sexually violent hazing on a Glacier High freshman football team bus earlier this year?

Two 15-year-old boys in that case are charged with misdemeanor assault in that case.

Contrast that with the approach taken in this Cascade County case in which a Great Falls High football player faces charges of rape and sexual assault.

The Great Falls Tribune reports 18-year-old Alex Botina-Roehm was arrested Monday and is charged with hazing two students. His bail was set at just over $100,000.

Court records say the hazing involved coming up from behind an intended target and placing one arm between their legs, wrapping the other arm around their body and lifting them off the ground.

The story reports that the mother of one of the alleged victims went to police, saying the school hadn’t addressed the issue.

Penn State, anyone?
