Here’s a prosecutor in touch with today’s realities. An Associated Press story reports that Cascade County Attorney’s Office is doing his best to ensure that nobody takes to the Internet to harass the victims of an alleged sexual hazing.
Alex Botina-Roehm is charged with rape and two counts of sexual assault after the boys reported Roehm lifted them up by their crotches in the showers.
Students were told Thursday that anyone who posts messages on online sites or sends text messages regarding the alleged victims or the investigation will be prosecuted, as will anyone who tries to contact or contacts the victims.
Great Falls High has hired an outside investigator to review reports that school officials knew about the alleged incidents but didn’t go to authorities.
The warning from the prosecutor’s office will be the only one, according to the story. And yes, police are checking the Web to see if anyone violates the order.
