The Missoula County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a burglary that took place at 2783 Ancabide Lane in the Miller Creek area.

Suspects entered this vacant foreclosed home and broke several windows and light fixtures, causing approximately $2,000 in damage.

Donations after vandalism turn pumpkin frown upside down!

It’s not often that a story from the cops and courts beat has a happy ending. But the Missoula Alliance Church had a heartwarming experience after the recent vandalism of its fundraising pumpkin patch. Somebody went through the patch and sliced through about 100 pumpkins, causing about $1,000 worth of damage.

Oh, no! Pumpkins attacked!

(Timothy Alex Akimoff/Missoulian)Somebody took a knife to the pumpkins in the patch outside the Missoula Alliance Church Sunday night. But the person wasn’t carving jack o’lanterns.

Instead, when workers opened the patch (shown in 2007 Missoulian photo) for business at noon Monday, they discovered more than 100 gruesome gourds, their bright-orange shells cleaved by something very large and very sharp.

“It looks like somebody just took a machete or something and just hacked at them,” said Pastor Dan Nagel.
